M. A. (Tulu)

About M. A. (Tulu) Course


Tulu is a Dravidian language spoken mainly in the south west part of the Indian state of Karnataka and also in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. The Tulu speaking region is often referred to as Tulu Nadu. The native speakers of Tulu are referred to as Tuluva or Tulu people.
Govt of Karnataka permitted to start Tulu Language Education in Schools from Primary and Secondary levels.
Mangalore University took its own initiative to introduce Tulu Language in Colleges for the P.G. Programmes in 2017-18.
In 2017 Mangalore University established CHAIR IN THE TULU with the help of grant from State Govt as Corpus fund. The Chair is now functioning in full swing with its support for the spread of Tulu Language Art Culture through Seminars-workshops-programmes-Research projects. It also supports the formal Tulu Education programs at higher education Level.

The major breakthrough was starting M.A. course in Tulu at University Evening College in 2017-2018., Mangalore University set a track record of being the second university in India to start P.G. Course in Tulu, after the Goa University. Now, M.A. Tulu is leading, as the first among the three Post graduate Language programs/ depts., presently functioning at University Evening College.

M. A. (Konkani)

About M. A. (Konkani) Course


Konkani being one of the ancient languages of India is spoken widely in the West Coast regions of India. In 1992 it was included into the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, thus treated as one of the Scheduled Languages of India. Largest number of Konkani population is found in Karnataka and therefore the Government of Karnataka has been very supportive for the cause of the Konkani.
Govt of Karnataka permitted to start Konkani Language Education in Schools from Primary and Secondary levels in 2007-08.
Mangalore University took its own initiative to introduce Konkani Language in Colleges for the U.G. Programmes in 2014-15.

About M. A. (English) Course


The Department of M.A. in English has been established in the year 2018-19. This course is very much helpful for those who are working during the day and cannot continue their education due to various reasons. With demand for English teachers constantly on the rise, and with several educational institutions coming up in the district, you can find yourself well placed immediately after completing your degree. You will also get job offers from several offices and firms for undertaking soft skill training. Apart from above mentioned opportunities, you may also find openings for the post of content writer, script writer for advertisements and editor for publishing houses.

M. B. A. (International Business)

About the M.B. A. (International Business) Course


The Department of MBA(International Business) was founded in 2009 and 7 batches have passed out of the campus. The faculty consists of qualified teachers from the Department of Commerce and Business Management of the College and faculty from the Department of Business Administration, Mangalore University. The Department of MBA(International Business), located at the heart of the city has a very good academic exposure needed for higher studies. Experienced faculty, good library and wifi enabled computer laboratory and supportive mentorship in making one to be most fit for a global requirements. The programme is conducted in the evening hours from 6 PM to 9.30PM from Monday to Saturday and on Sunday classes are held from 9.30 AM to 1.30 PM at University Evening College, Mangalore. The MBA (International Business) students have access to three important libraries in the University, one at the department itself, second the university library and the third at University College. The department of MBA(International Business) is committed for the overall development of the students. The department organizes industrial tour, factory visits, workshops, special lecture programmes and the students have to take up project work as a part of their academic curriculum. The eligible students can avail scholarship form the government and other institutions to take up their studies. The students belonging to SC/ST, minorities and OBC are eligible for the facilities from the government. The department of MBA(International Business) is serving the students community at its best.
